For campervans, motorhomes and vans
Whether it's a VW bus, a Ducato-based motorhome or a Sprinter: we retrofit Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation with a vehicle profile, a reversing camera and DAB+ into your camper or van – neatly installed, with your original radio handed back.
Complete fromCHF 690incl. device, installation & pickup
Many campervans and vans still have a basic radio – no navigation, no hands-free calling, no camera. Yet these are exactly the vehicles that cover long distances, squeeze onto tight pitches and find their way through unfamiliar places. Retrofitting CarPlay in your campervan or van gives you a large touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, both wireless and wired.
Typical vehicles include the VW T5 and T6 (Multivan, California, Transporter), motorhomes based on the Fiat Ducato, Citroën Jumper and Peugeot Boxer, and the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Vito and Viano. We're also happy to check the Ford Transit and Transit Custom, Renault Trafic and Master, Opel Vivaro or Iveco Daily.

The Android display runs navigation apps where you enter height, width and weight, so your route avoids low underpasses.
Close to essential in a camper: often mounted in the third brake light, with the cable neatly routed through the whole vehicle.
Digital radio in Switzerland and many holiday countries – just run a new scan after crossing the border.
For Alpine passes, remote valleys and pitches without signal: download maps in advance and keep navigating.
Depending on the unit, two phones can be connected at once: one for calls, the other for music.
Whoever is DJ connects their phone via Bluetooth or CarPlay – for playlists, podcasts and audiobooks.
Control volume, tracks and calls as usual – depending on the vehicle, via a CAN bus adapter that translates your vehicle's signals.
A first overview – the right solution depends on the year and equipment, and is confirmed during the free check.

Vehicles with factory-fitted Apple CarPlay usually don't need a retrofit. In motorhomes, the manufacturer sometimes fitted its own radio – we check that too.
In a panel van with no rear windows or a motorhome with a tall body, the rear-view mirror shows little or nothing. A reversing camera makes manoeuvring on campsites, at petrol stations or in driveways far more relaxed.
On vans and campervans, we usually mount the camera in or on the third brake light, where it sees more than at number plate height. On long vehicles, the cable runs the full length to the dashboard – we route it neatly behind the trim, with no loose wires in the living area. An existing camera on a motorhome body can often be connected to the new display, with an adapter depending on the system. More on reversing cameras.
For touring, Comfort with DAB+ and offline maps is a natural fit; for larger vehicles, Premium includes a reversing camera. Package prices are starting prices – your fixed price is in the quote.

Learn moreIn most cases, yes. In the T5, a new 9- or 10-inch display with a matching fascia replaces the radio, and the steering-wheel buttons keep working depending on the equipment. In a T6 with factory infotainment, we also check whether CarPlay can be activated. More on our VW page.
As a rule, yes. The Ducato, Jumper and Boxer usually have a radio slot that takes a new display with a matching fascia. If the motorhome manufacturer fitted its own radio or camera, we look at that during the check.

On the Android display, you can install navigation apps for campers or lorries with settings for height, width, length and weight; many are paid apps. For everyday driving, Google Maps, Waze and Apple Maps remain available via CarPlay and Android Auto.
