Toyotas are known for their reliability – plenty of Auris, Yaris, RAV4 and Avensis models are still going strong after ten years or more. The infotainment can't keep up: Toyota Touch & Go maps are often out of date, and music streaming and decent voice control are missing. With a CarPlay retrofit for your Toyota (or Android Auto), you get a large touchscreen with Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps, Spotify and hands-free calling by voice.
In most Toyotas, a new Android display with a vehicle-specific fascia replaces the original radio – from CHF 690, or with DAB+ and faster hardware in the Comfort package from CHF 890. On models that show climate or hybrid information on the radio display, we make sure the right adapter is used.

Factory radios and systems in Toyota cars
In the years before CarPlay, Toyota fitted two main types of radio:
Conventional CD radios (approx. 2002–2012)
For example in the Corolla, Yaris XP9, Auris E15, RAV4 XA30, Hilux and early Avensis T27. A new Android display with a matching fascia replaces the radio. On some models, climate control information appears on the radio display – this then needs an adapter or fascia that keeps that readout.
Toyota Touch, Touch & Go and Touch 2 (approx. 2012–2018)
Touchscreen systems in the Auris E18, Yaris XP13, RAV4 XA40, Avensis, Verso and other models. As a rule, they don't offer CarPlay. A larger Android display replaces the system; the steering-wheel buttons and factory reversing camera keep working, depending on equipment. On the Land Cruiser 150, the solution depends heavily on the year – some younger vehicles have CarPlay from the factory, so we check individually.
Hybrid models
We retrofit the Prius, Auris Hybrid and Yaris Hybrid too. The work only involves the radio – the hybrid system isn't touched.

My Toyota has Toyota Touch & Go – can CarPlay be retrofitted?
Yes, in most cases. A new Android display with a vehicle-specific fascia replaces the Touch & Go system and adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, both wireless and wired. The steering-wheel buttons and, depending on equipment, the factory reversing camera keep working. On a few late models, CarPlay is already available from the factory or via an update – we check this beforehand.
Will the climate display still work?
On Toyota models that show climate control information on the radio display, this is an important point. With the right adapter or fascia, the readout is kept in most cases – sometimes on the new display, sometimes in a separate display panel. We check this from a photo and set out the solution in the quote.
Does it work on hybrid models such as the Prius or Auris Hybrid?
Yes. The installation only involves the radio area; we don't touch the hybrid system. On many models, the energy flow display that used to appear on the radio screen can still be seen in the instrument cluster. We check free of charge beforehand whether your model has any other particularities.
How much does CarPlay cost for a Toyota?
